1st February 2026

Valentines Day brings us options such as Gariguette strawberries, wild strawberries and our special ‘I Love You’ stencilled apples.

White asparagus from the Loire Valley is a highlight this month. We expect the first green Pertuis asparagus later in February. Also very early peas and broad beans from Italy

Citrus is still going strong. Blood oranges have good colour now. Specialist lines include Honey Lemon and Yuko - ask us for our full list.

We recommend Passe Crassane pears this month - the last of the European pear varieties.

Artichokes are also a highlight with the full range of varieties - from giant Mammola to smaller bunched purple.

We may see the first Jersey Royal potatoes this month. Early harvests are grown under glass.

Bad weather in Spain and Italy has impacted the availability of crops such as calçots from Catalonia.
