Stone fruit is peak season including blood peach, blood nectarine, flat peach, apricots, plums. UK cherries are eating well.

Melons are recommended - the full range including Charentais from Meffre, Piel de Sapo, Galia, black-skinned watermelon, smooth-skinned Zerbinati.

French figs are starting, along with Spanish black figs and green figs from Italy.

UK peas and broad beans. Also UK baby vegetables, herbs, salads, Hispi, purple sprouting, tender stem, bunched carrots.

Provence tomatoes are sensational - grown in the soil and sun.

It’s a great month for specialist beans, too: Borlotti, runner, Val de Loire, yellow, flat Helda, flat white etc. Coco de Paimpol to come.
